My goal is to develop the love of learning in your child. I value and teach respect for self and others. Communication, self control and character building are accomplished with a spirit of teaching and love.
The curriculum is thematic, emergent and play based. It focuses on the interests of the child using all the different ways children learn and includes Math, Science, Block Play, Dramatic Play, Books, Music, Art, Outdoor activities, Sand and Water Play.
Some of the themes we have studied in the past include apples, bugs, community helpers, fire prevention, families, food, dental health, snow, trains, transportation, flowers, fish and the ocean.
Field trips are once or twice a week and include Oakland, San Francisco, and Happy Hollow zoos; Bay Area and Children's Discovery Museums; Habitot; Hidden Villa; storytime at the library; and many local parks.
